24/7 ZEN Project’s One-Year Consortium Meeting in Turin

We successfully concluded the one-year consortium meeting at Politecnico di Torino in Turin, Italy on February 13-14. The meeting brought together all partners to discuss the progress, achievements and next steps of the project.
The focus of the meeting was the discussion of the progress in the design and development of a high-performing 33/100kW scale rSOC (reversible solid oxide cell) power balancing plant, which is the project’s main target, in order to showcase its compatibility with both the electricity and gas grids, highlighting its potential in achieving sustainable energy solutions.
During the meeting, the consortium focused on the progress that has been made, the timeline and the next steps regarding the identification of different scenarios and configurations for grid integration, and energy system and rSOC pilot requirements. Furthermore, the development of enhanced SOC components for optimised reversible operation, the rSOC system development, requirements for the integrated power balancing demo plant and the dissemination and communication activities were outlined and thoroughly discussed.
The consortium aims to develop innovative energy solutions, contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable renewable energy future.
Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of the 24/7 ZEN project.
